Laura LepineInstructor, ChoreographerLaura Lepine (Sutherland) started dancing at the age of 3 at Markall’s School of Dance & Baton in Thunder Bay, and danced competitively for 16 years in all genres of dance. It was clear early on that Laura loved to tap. Although she enjoyed wearing pretty tutus in ballet, she never stopped tapping her feet. She completed dance exams in both CDTA & BATD, and has been fortunate to participate in many dance conventions and competitions. Laura had the pleasure to learn extensively with tappers Robert Reed, Laurie Johnson and Lana Caputi.
Laura began teaching dance in 2006 and continued until 2013. She has choreographed dancers for groups and solos for both competitive and recreational classes. Outside of dance, Laura completed her Bachelor’s of Science from Lakehead University as well as obtaining a diploma in Chemical Engineering Technology. She works for the Lake Superior Centre of Regenerative Medicine as a tissue processing technician. Laura is excited to be joining the IDA faculty. |
